Leave Me Alone

ight
Leave Me Alone was the B-side to the 1964 single by The Canadian Squires. Produced by Henry Glover and released on Ware Records, it featured the group doing a hard R&B akin to what they were performing in clubs all across The United States and Canada. Penned by guitarist Jaime Robbie Robertson, it speaks of the ills of club life- "trouble, fight, almost every night". Features of the song include dual lead vocals by drummer Levon Helm and pianist Richard Manuel and blistering lead guitar by Robertson. The A-side of the single was "Uh-Uh-Uh", also penned by Robertson. The single at right is the Canadian pressing, released on Apex Records in 1965. Copies on either label are extremely scarce and valuable.
