Leaffooted Bug

Leaffooted bug, or Western Conifer Seed Bug. This is a large bug that looks like a cross between a cockroach and a beetle. It looks like what they call the Assassin Bug. The assassin bug is harmful to people, but the leaffooted bug is harmless to people. If its alarming size and color isn't enough to freak you out, the fact that it comes inside your home when it turns colder and likes to make a home for itself in your bed. If you live in a wooded area, you will probably get this bug in your home. It sucks the sap out of pine cones from all kinds of evergreen trees. Pesticides will not get this bug out of your home. The best way is by hand removal. Also, to prevent the bug getting in, secure all window screens, attic vents, etc.
