Laurence Silberman

Laurence Silberman is an American judge, formerly a member of the U.S. Court of Appeals. A long-time supporter of the Republican Party, served in the presidential administrations of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. As a judge, he issued controversial rulings during the Iran-Contra Affair and the Monica Lewinsky scandal. On 6 February 2004, Silberman was appointed co-chair of the Iraq Intelligence Commission, an independent panel tasked with investigating U.S. intelligence surrounding the United States' 2003 invasion of Iraq and Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.
