larry blumberg

Larry Blumberg was born in New York, New York, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Iona College (New Rochelle, NY) and a Masters Degree in Financial Management from the U.S. Navy Post Graduate School. While in the U.S. Navy, Blumberg held a wide variety of positions ranging from chief executive of a major technical center, to the first commanding officer of a Spruance class destroyer. Blumberg currently is the director of West Coast operations for DRS Technical Services, Inc., a company whose primary business areas include software development, systems integration, and test and evaluation of U.S. Navy and Department of Defense hardware and software systems. He has overall responsibility of facilities in San Diego, Seattle, Pearl Harbor and Yokosuka, Japan. Blumberg joined the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl committee in 1990, and was voted to the board of directors in 1999. He was elected as president of the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl for 2004. In addition to his involvement with the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl, Blumberg has served as chairman of the Military Affairs Advisory Council for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Navy League, and is a past president of the Point Loma Rotary Club, Fleet Week San Diego, and the San Diego Chapter of the Surface Navy Association. Larry and his wife, Patricia, have two grown children, Margaret of San Diego and Mary of New York. They have three grandchildren.
