Lard (Band)

Lard is a hardcore punk band. Founded in 1989 as a side project by Jello Biafra, Alain Jourgensen, Paul Barker, and the late Jeff Ward, the band has also included Ministry members Bill Rieflin, Mike Scaccia, and Rey Washam. Like most of Biafra's work, Lard's songs are angrily political (the War on Drugs is a particularly common theme) but often have a tinge of humour. As of 2004, Lard has not toured or performed live; as its key members are heavily active with other projects, it is unlikely that this will change.
