LantzmenA word of yiddish orgin that strictly means fellow Jews who grew up in the same East European shtetl as the speaker, more generally it means countrymen, cohorts or sympatheziers. It may also indicate that more than simply another villager but a man respected in the community for his wisdom/knowledge of Torah and Jewish teachings(which is equivalent to wisdom to a practicing Jew). Possibly the plural of lantzman.
