Landen, Ohio

Landen is a census designated place located in Deerfield Township, Warren County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the unincorporated community had a total population of 12,766. It is located around Columbia Road in the southeastern part of the township. It is located near Twenty Mile Stand and Fosters.

Geography

Landen is located at 39°18'33" North, 84°17'5" West (39.309067, -84.284739). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 12.3 km² (4.8 mi²). 12.1 km² (4.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.68% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 12,766 people, 4,905 households, and 3,448 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 1,053.2/km² (2,729.7/mi²). There are 5,162 housing units at an average density of 425.9/km² (1,103.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 93.86% White, 1.48% African American, 0.09% Native American, 2.70% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 0.78% from other races, and 0.99% from two or more races. 2.18% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 4,905 households out of which 40.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.1% are married couples living together, 6.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.7% are non-families. 23.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.60 and the average family size is 3.14. In the CDP the population is spread out with 29.3% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 38.7% from 25 to 44, 20.4% from 45 to 64, and 5.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 99.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.1 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $67,562, and the median income for a family is $78,236. Males have a median income of $52,446 versus $35,264 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $32,861. 2.5% of the population and 1.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 2.3% of those under the age of 18 and 1.9% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
