Lancair ColumbiaThe Lancair Columbia is a single-engine, fixed-gear, low-wing general aviation aircraft built from composite materials. It is currently produced in two models, the 350 and 400. They are highly efficient, offer high cruise speeds, and are "all-electric", with standard electronic flight displays that do not use traditional gyroscope-based instruments. They are often compared against the Mooney Ovation and Bravo2. The Lancair Columbia 400 is perhaps the highest performance FAA-certified piston aircraft in production today. It uses a turbocharged TSIO-550C 310hp engine, and can cruise at 235kts at 25,000ft. The Columbia 350 uses a 310 hp naturally aspirated IO-550-N engine. The Columbia 300 is an earlier version of the 350 without a glass cockpit, no longer in production. Specifications (Columbia 300) General Characteristics - Crew: one pilot
