Lake Santeetlah is a town located in Graham County, North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 67.

Geography

Lake Santeetlah is located at 35°21'49" North, 83°51'52" West (35.363578, -83.864367). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 67 people, 38 households, and 25 families residing in the town. The population density is 129.3/km² (332.4/mi²). There are 172 housing units at an average density of 332.0/km² (853.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 94.03% White, 1.49% African American, 4.48% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 1.49% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 38 households out of which 5.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.8% are married couples living together, 0.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.6% are non-families. 31.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.76 and the average family size is 2.12. In the town the population is spread out with 4.5% under the age of 18, 0.0% from 18 to 24, 10.4% from 25 to 44, 41.8% from 45 to 64, and 43.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 61 years. For every 100 females there are 97.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.0 males.
