Labiovelar

A labiovelar sound is one produced with the lips and velum simultaneously. An example is English w in word (IPA ). It may be characterized as a labial glide with an colouring. Its voiceless counterpart, IPA , is found in some regional pronunciations of English, especially in Scotland, England (for some speakers) and the American Midwest, so that witch () and which () are not homonyms.
