Kyle Maclachlan

Kyle MacLachlan (born February 22, 1959 in Yakima, Washington) is an American actor best known for his work with American film director David Lynch.

Biography

MacLachlan has worked extensively with Lynch, appearing as Paul Atreides in Lynch's epic adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune and as Jeffrey Beaumont in Blue Velvet. Later he played Special Agent Dale Cooper in the ABC television series Twin Peaks. MacLachlan reprised the role of Agent Cooper for Lynch's 1992 prequel . In the 1993 film version of The Trial, MacLachlan played the lead role of the persecuted Josef K. He portrayed the spirit of Cary Grant in Touch of Pink. Most noteworthy to critics was his uncanny ability to capture the nuances of Grant's mannerisms. He also had a recurring role in the American television series Sex and the City, portraying a doctor who becomes a love interest of one of the female leads. MacLachlan has appeared in several plays, including John Kolvenbach's On an Average Day with Woody Harrelson, Harold Pinter's, The Caretaker with Patrick Stewart, Romeo and Juliet, and Henry V.
