The directors liked the meaning of the word so much as it referred to the main villian in the movie, that they made it the title of the movie. A short while later, a sequal was decided to be made to this movie so the title of "Kutomo" was changed to "Origonal Kutomo". The sequal, "Kutomo 2: Death From Above" features the return of the villian from the first movie who is the friend of death. The sequal is planned to be released at the end of the year 2005 in a 6 DVD box set of movies made throughout that year.
