Kristijonas Donelaitis

Kristijonas Donelaitis was a Lithuanian Lutheran pastor and poet. He was born on January 1, 1714 in Lithuania Minor or East Prussia. He wrote the first Lithuanian poem "Metai" (The Seasons) thus laying the foundations for Lithuanian poetry. He died on February 18, 1780, at the age of 67.
