Uprising

February
1846
was an attempt to incite an all-
Polish
fight for home-rule but was in fact limited only to the
Free City of Krakw
. The uprising, led by
Edward Dembowski
, was quickly suppressed by the
Austrian
army, and followed by Krakw's incorporation into the Austrian Empire as
Grand Duchy of Krakw
.
