Geography Koyuk is located at 64°55'52" North, 161°9'31" West (64.931099, -161.158480). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.3 km² (4.7 mi²). 12.3 km² (4.7 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 297 people, 80 households, and 59 families residing in the city. The population density is 24.2/km² (62.7/mi²). There are 95 housing units at an average density of 7.7/km² (20.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 4.71% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 91.92% Native American, 0.67% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.69% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 80 households out of which 53.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.0% are married couples living together, 18.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.3% are non-families. 21.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.71 and the average family size is 4.31. In the city the population is spread out with 41.8% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 16.5% from 45 to 64, and 3.0% who are 65 years of age or older.
