kowloon city

Kowloon City (九龍城, Pinyin: Jiu3long2cheng2) is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. It is located in Kowloon. Population (2000): 406,000. Area: approx. 10 km². Kowloon City District is chiefly a residential area. Areas include: Ho Man Tin何文田, Hung Hom紅磡, Kai Tak啟德, Kowloon Tong九龍塘, Ma Tau Wai馬頭圍, To Kwa Wan土瓜灣, Whampoa Garden黃埔.

History

Part of the district was the location the original "Kowloon City", see Kowloon Walled City. This is now Walled City Park. The former Kai Tak International Airport was located in the district.
