korgfjelltunnelen

Korgfjelltunnelen is a 8530 meter long road tunnel connecting Knutli in Vefsn with Korgen in Hemnes, both in Nordland county in northern Norway. Work started in 2001 and will be complete in the second half of 2005. The tunnel will replace a narrow, twisting mountain road and shorten the E6 highway by 4 km when opened. The tunnel, including new roads at both ends, will cost about 450 million NOK.
