Korea
. The komungo is a six-string
zither
with 16
frets
on its fretboard. The instruments originated from
Koguryo
, in the northern part of modern-day
North Korea
during the
4th century
. The komungo is six
feet
(1.83
meters
) long and is played in a sitting-down position with a small
bamboo
stick called a
sultae
.
