KMIR-TV (Channel 36, cable 6) is a television station located in Palm Desert, California. It's signal covers most of the Coachella Valley, including Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and La Quinta. KMIR was the first television station to go on the air in the Palm Springs market in 1968. It was purchased by Journal Broadcast Group in 1999.
