Kingwood, Texas

Kingwood was a town in Harris County, Texas. Known as the "Livable Forest," Kingwood is a planned community of the Friendswood Development Company, and was founded in 1969. The most recent estimation of Kingwood's population was at 63,000(2004). In 1995, Kingwood was annexed to the city of Houston, which was the largest annexation in Texas history. Some residents in the town were opposed to it and tried to set up a petition in 1999 for deannexation, but they failed. Kingwood Online
