King Edward Vii Stakes

The King Edward VII Stakes is a Group 2 United Kingdom flat racing horse race for three year old colts and geldings run over a distance of 1 mile 4 furlongs at Ascot Racecourse during June. (worth 140,000 in 2004). First run in 1834, and called the Ascot Derby Stakes until 1925. The race was originally open to both sexes but on its renaming in 1926 the current entry restrictions came into place.
