Kharja

A kharja (spanish jarcha) is a special piece of a popular song which was appended to Arabic and Hebrew poems (muwashakhas) in Medieval Spain. It is written in mozarabic (in the arabic alphabet). Many of the kharjas are little poems featuring girls talking about their lovers. These texts are considered the oldest written poetry in an Iberic Romance language.
