  • What's the Frequency, Kenneth? is the name of a song by REM that came from an incident in 1986 when Dan Rather was assualted by the-then-unknown William Tager who shouted "Kenneth, what's the Frequency?" while he repeatedly kicked Rather. In the US, as a result of this incident, "Kenneth" has became slang for a confused or uninformed person.
