Ken Tyrrell

Ken Tyrrell (May 3, 1924August 25 2001) was an auto racing driver and the founder of the Tyrrell Formula One constructor. Tyrrell served in the Royal Air Force during World War II. After the war he became a timber merchant. In 1951 he began racing a Cooper in Formula 3. By the end of the 1950s, Tyrrell had moved to preparing cars for other drivers.
