Kev

In the United Kingdom, a kev is a derogatory term applied to a yobbish young man or boy, belonging to Britain's new underclass. Kevs are typically perceived as possessing little if not no intellect, in conjunction with little thought for others with regard to their behaviour in public. A more common term for the kev is the chav. There has formerly been much discussion as to where the term 'kev' originated; it has generally been accepted, however, to have been an off-shoot from the name 'Kevin', due primarily to the stereotypical teenager Kevin as played by British actor Harry Enfield.
