Kazusa Province
Kazusa
(上総国; -no kuni) was an
old province
in the area of the
Boso Peninsula
of
Honshu
that is today the central part of
Chiba prefecture
. Kazusa bordered on
Awa
and
Shimo-Usa Provinces
. Kazusa was usually run from a castle town at
Otaki
, although the ancient capital was likely located near
Ichihara
, across the peninsula.
