Kaze No Kizu

Kaze no Kizu (風の傷 lit. eng. Wound of the Wind) is a special attack technique featured in the manga and anime series InuYasha. The technique is the base attack of the phantom sword Tessaiga, currently wielded by InuYasha. In the English dubbed version of the anime, the Kaze no Kizu is called the Wind Scar. This attack is accomplished by finding the rift, or scar, between the powerful yōkai auras (yōki) of Tessaiga's wielder and the opposing demon. Once the Wind Scar is found, the wielder of Tessaiga can swing the sword into the rift to release a powerful energy wave that has the power to kill 100 yōkai in one strike. When the wielder becomes proficient enough, the Kaze no Kizu can be released at will. Built upon this attack is the more powerful attack called Bakuryūha.
