Kathleen Brown

Kathleen Brown is a Californian politician who comes from a prominent political family in the state. She is the daughter of former Governor Pat Brown and the sister of Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown (also a former Governor of California). Like the other members of her family, Kathleen is a Democrat. She was elected California State Treasurer in 1990. She unsucessfully tried to be the third member of the Brown family to serve as governor, but was defeated by incumbent Republican Governor Pete Wilson (who had previously defeated Jerry Brown for one of California's US Senate seats in 1982) in the 1994 gubernatorial election.
