Katamori Matsudaira

Katamori Matsudaira (松平容保 Matsudaira Katamori) was the Military Comissioner of Japan in the last days of the Edo period, before the Meiji Restoration took place. The leader of the Aizu clan, both the Shinsengumi and Mimawarigumi operated under Lord Matsudaira. He was the son of the lord of Takasu in Minokuni( old Southern Gifu) and his concubine. He was one of the four Takasu brothers.
