KaraNet is the biggest austrian BBS Bulletin board system. Originally established back in 1994, the System as Users knew it died on July 16, 2004 - after 10 years of serving 24/7 - due to hardware failure. That's when the SysOps decided to finally switch to JKara, which is just like old-school KaraNet, but completely rewritten from scratch in Java and coming GPL'd.
