Jynx (known as Ruujura/ Rougela(?) in the original Japanese) is a Pokmon in the video game of the same name.

Name origin

USA: Jinx Japan: Rouge + la

Information

Jynx seems to be perceived as a stereotype of African-Americans. In 2002, Nintendo had changed its face color to purple, in order not to offend people. In 2005, POkemon AG finally changed Jynx's face color to purple.

Anime Appearances

Jynx made an appearance in the episode The Ice Cave, which was unaired, and also in the episode Holiday Hi-Jynx, which isn't re-aired on most stations, both due to stress from the above perception. Appeared in POkemon AG23--"All THings Bright And Beautifly" for 13 seconds, scene cut in USA. Appeared in Pokemon AG 392 and 393, with Politically Correctedness, purple for skin colour.
