June List

The June List (Junilistan) is a Swedish political party started to run in the European Parliament election in 2004. The party was started in wake of the Swedish Euro referendum held in September 2003, where adoption of the Euro was rejected. The two main forces behind the party are Nils Lundgren, the former chief economist of Nordea, and Lars Wollin, a former governor of the Riksbank, who are both sceptical of the Euro. The name was borrowed from the Danish June Movement to which it maintains links. The party succeeded in capturing three seats in the European Parliament, where they have chosen to affiliate themselves with the Independence and Democracy group.
