Julie Cypher

Julie Cypher, born 1964 in Kansas, is best known as the former partner and lover of Melissa Etheridge, with whom she had two children, Beckett and Bailey Jean (fathered by David Crosby). Formerly married to Lou Diamond Phillips, Cypher attended the University of Texas and met Etheridge while directing the music video for the song Bring Me Some Water in 1988. Famous for being one half of what is likely the first publicly lesbian celebrity couple, Cypher is an active advocate for gay rights and has done promotions for PETA. Cypher, Julie Cypher, Julie
