Jowar

Jowar - also known as jwari - is a staple grain in large parts of central India. The botanical name is Sorghum. Jowar can grow with less amount of water and hence in the drier regions, it is preferred over wheat or rice. A variety of unleavened bread made from jowar called bhakri is the staple diet in many parts of India like Maharashtra and northern Karnataka.
