Jos Braulio Alemn

Jos Braulio Alemn (b. ?;d. January 15, 1930, Havana) was a Cuban general in the Spanish-American War, after which he was promoted to Mayor General. He was the principal author of the Constitution of Cuba proclaimed at La Yara, Cuba in 1896. Alemn, a lawyer by profession and owner of a newspaper in Santa Clara, Cuba in the province of Las Villas, was a key player in the fight against the Spanish. After the war Alemn served as Governor and Senator for Las Villas, Cuba, Minister of Education and Ambassador to Mexico. However, Alemn's age and health prevented further aspirations. Alemn
