John Wesley Harding is a folk rock album by Bob Dylan, produced by Bob Johnston and released on December 27, 1967 (see 1967 in music). The album is considered a return for Dylan to his folk and country roots, as opposed to the three previous albums. It is Dylan's eighth album and was recorded after he was involved in a motorcycle accident, which it appears caused him to re-evaluate his art. It was re-released in a remastered form in 2003 under the Columbia Records label. It is number 301 on the List of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
