John Sutherland

John Sutherland is a British editor and literary theorist. In his literary theory he tries to look inside classical/modern/Shakespearean text and find discrepancies in continuity (for example the ages of characters), reasons why a character acts in a certain way, and asks questions which the novel etc. only hints at.
