John Smith House

John Smith House is the former Labour Party headquarters at 144-152 Walworth Road in South London. It was renamed after John Smith, a former leader of the Labour Party who died in office in 1994. The Labour Party left John Smith House in 1997 and moved to Millbank Tower. In 2001 it moved again to 16 Old Queen Street in Westminster. John Smith House is now used by Southwark local education authority. Next door is the Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Unions.
