John O'brien (Novelist)

John O'Brien was born in 1960 and lived most of his life in California. Leaving Las Vegas was first published in 1990. Since O'Brien's suicide in 1994, two more of his novels have been published: Stripper Lessons and The Assault on Tony's, a manuscript that had been left unfinished by O'Brien at the time of his death and which was then completed by his sister, Erin O'Brien.
