John Lennon's Jukebox

In 1989, at an auction of Beatles memorabilia, John Lennon's jukebox was sold at Christie's for 2,500, to John Midwinter. He spent years restoring it, and researching the 41 discs, labelled in John's spidery handwriting. In 2004, "The South Bank Show" broadcast a documentary on it, and a double album was issued, containing all the tracks. John probably bought it in 1965, and didn't add to it after 1966. It shows songs he admired and many that influenced his own writing. The earliest is Gene Vincent, 1956, and the last is "The Lovin' Spoonful", 1966.
