John J. Williams (Senator)

John James Williams (May 17, 1904January 11, 1988) was an American politician from Delaware who served as a U.S. Senator from Delaware from 1947 to 1970. He was a Republican. He was the first person from Delaware to serve in the Senate for four terms and did not run for reelection in 1970. (His successor, William V. Roth, was the state's first five-term Senator).
