John Griffin Whitwell, 4Th Baron Howard De Walden

John Griffin Whitwell, 4th Baron Howard de Walden, 1st Baron Braybrooke (March 13, 1719 - May 25, 1797) was a British nobleman and soldier. Born at Oundle, Northamptonshire, England, Whitwell married Anna Maria Schutz in 1748. He acceded to his peerage on August 3, 1784, after which he changed his name to John Griffin Griffin. He was made a field marshal on July 30, 1796. Among others, he had commanded the 1st Horse Grenadier Guards (a cavalry regiment). He died at Audley End.
