John ForsytheJohn Forsythe (born John Lincoln Freund on January 29, 1918) is an actor. He is probably best known for his role of Blake Carrington on the ABC prime-time soap opera, Dynasty. Forsythe attended the University of North Carolina, after graduation he moved to New York City and studied with the Actor's Studio. He has been married twice. He was divorced from his first wife, Parker McCormick. They had one son, Dall. His second wife, Julie Warren, died in 1994. They had two daughters, Page and Brooke. He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. Forsythe began his career as an announcer for the Brooklyn Dodgers, quickly moving on to radio soap operas. He eventually drifted towards Broadway. Prior to World War II he had a contract with Warner Brothers studio. He made his first film during this time, Destination Tokyo with Cary Grant. After the war, he returned to Broadway. He also made several television appearances. In 1957, Forsythe moved to Hollywood to star in the television program, Bachelor Father. The show ran until 1962. He was nominated for an Emmy for this role. He went onto film several other television programs, including The John Forsythe Show, To Rome With Love, Dynasty, and The Powers That Be. He was also the voice of Charlie on the hit show, Charlie's Angels. During his television career, Forsythe also continued to make movies.
