John F. Murray

Dr. John F. Murray is a sport psychologist who first introduced the concept of scoring the mental side of a sport in his developing the MPI or "Mental Performance Index" for American football. He is also the author of the best-seller "Smart Tennis: How to Play and Win the Mental Game" (Jossey-Bass, 1999) endorsed by World Number One Lindsay Davenport. Dr. Murray is credited with helping many pro athletes and teams understand the mental side of performance better, and was credited by American tennis professional Vincent Spadea for mental coaching to help him overcome the longest losing streak in tennis history.
