John Chandos

Sir John Chandos (died 1369) was an English knight. Chandos was a close friend of Edward, the Black Prince, and a founder member of the Order of the Garter. After being given the viscounty of Saint-Sauveur in the Cotentin and being created the lieutenant of France and the vicechamberlain of England, he became the constable of Aquitaine and seneschal of Poitou in France during the Hundred Years' Wars. The records of the Chandos herald (ie Sir John's own herald) are a valuable source for contemporary events. Chandos, John Chandos, John Chandos, John
