john cameron mitchell

John Cameron Mitchell (born April 21, 1963) is an American writer, actor, and director. He created and starred as Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, an off-Broadway musical play (1998) and movie (2001). Cameron Mitchell was born in El Paso, Texas. His father is a retired officer in the U.S. Army, and Cameron Mitchell grew up on army bases and in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His mother is from Scotland and emigrated to the United States as a young woman. Cameron Mitchell currently lives in New York City.
