Major general Johan Caspar von Cicignon (c. 1625-1696) was an officer from Luxembourg. Born in Oberwampach, Cicignon became a Danish officer in 1657. He became commandant at the Bergensten fortress in the early 1660s. In 1681, he was sent to Trondheim, Norway, to lead the rebuilding of the town after a massive city fire.
