Jimmy Kudo

Jimmy Kudo, known as Shin'ichi Kudo (工藤 新一 Kudō Shin'ichi) in the original Japanese anime and manga, is the main character of the anime and manga Case Closed, known in Japan as Detective Conan. Viz romanized his original name as Shin'ichi Kudo while Shogakukan's website romanizes it as Shinichi Kudoh. Jimmy is a 17-year old student at Teitan High School (Titan High School in the anime) and is already a well-known detective. He dreams of being a great detective like Sherlock Holmes and gets his dose of reality from his near-girlfriend Rachel Moore (Ran Mori in the original Japanese). Jimmy's parents, Booker and Vivian (Yusaku and Yukiko) live in the United States while Jimmy lives in Japan. After witnessing a crime, Jimmy is captured and is forced to ingest a chemical. The chemical turns him into a young child, and he has to get an alias. His alias is Conan Edogawa (江戸川コナン Edogawa Conan), after Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Rampo. Jimmu, as Conan, isn't taken as seriously as a child, so he has to improvise. Jimmy frequently knocks out Richard Moore (Kogoro Mori) and uses his voice-changing bow tie to imitate Moore. Because of this, Moore gets the credit. Jimmy, as Conan, stays at Rachel's house. Knowing that Rachel misses Jimmy, "Conan" has to call her over the telephone and imitate his original voice so that she isn't worried about Jimmy. Only Dr. Agasa knows Conan's true identity. Conan befriends three other children, Amy (Ayumi Yoshida), George (Genta Kojima), and Mitch (Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya). Together they form the Junior Detective League (Detective Boys). Jimmy and Rachel make a cameo appearance in InuYasha episode 128 http://www.angelfire.com/trek/thekeyhole/spoof.html. Kudo, Jimmy
