Jimmy Choo

Jimmy Choo is a Hakka Chinese designer based in London, England. His company was founded in May of 1996 by Tamara Mellon, a high-end fashion retailer. Jimmy Choo is famous for their expensive, hand-made shoes and handbags. Jimmy Choo's name is actually Jimmy Chow. The registrar spelt his name wrongly on his birth certificate, resulting in the now well-known name of Jimmy Choo. He was born in Penang, Malaysia, and studied at Cordwainers' Technical College (now the London College of Fashion). Coming from a family of shoemakers, he created his first shoe at age 11. Among his many well-known clients was the late Diana, Princess of Wales. He is also the uncle of designer Sandra Choi. The flagship store is located in London, United Kingdom.
