Scottish
politician, and
Deputy First Minister of Scotland
. He studied Law at
Cambridge University
and
Edinburgh University
. He was
Liberal Democrats
member of Parliament
at
Westminster
for
Orkney
and
Shetland
from
1983
to
2001
, when he stood down to concentrate on Scotland. He has been
MSP
for
Orkney
since
1999
. After the
2003
election he was named
Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong Learning
. Jim Wallace is also an
elder
of the
Church of Scotland
. He was appointed a
Privy Counsellor
in 2000.
